With the 2012 being somewhat of a difficult vintage, this win was the exception. Great acidity from the cool year contributed to the excellent fruit quality, which also created a great depth of flavors and complexity. All of the components were fermented in our stainless steel upright fermenter with 796 yeast, and aged in 3-year-old 100% French oak barrels for 26 months.

Bright layered aromatics of blueberry, raspberry, a touch of eucalyptus, black currant and spice on the nose, this wine explodes on the palate. Flavors of black currant, black cherry, and earthy black licorice are intertwined with a touch of tarragon and eucalyptus that is rounded out by a nice hint of spice. Thsi wine has medium finish that is balanced with soft tannins and acidity.
