Winemaker's Notes

With varied harvest dates starting in late September to early November, we are excited about the complexity of the flavors in this vintage of Malbec.  Champoux Vineyard and Goose Ridge Vineyard Malbecs were fermented in our stainless still upright fermenters with Alice Vineyard Malbec and the Goose Ridge Vineyard Mourvedre done in our rotary fermentor as PDM yeast was used on all components.  100% malolatic fermentation completed in neutral 59-gallon French Oak barrels along with 40% of the blend in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness.  The wine was then aged for 13 months in 2-year-old and 3-year-old 59-gallon French Oak barrels

Tasting Notes

Lush layered fragrant aromatics of blackberry, plum, black currant, violet with a touch of anise, this Malbec jumps out on the palate with nice depth and complexity.  The wine shows layered flavors of Lambert cherry, plum, pomegranate, alongside a slight touch of herbs, black tea, and orange zest. Flavors linger with a nice rich and balanced mouthfeel and a firm and focused finish. .
