2018 Badger Mountain Merlot, USDA Organic, No Sulfites Added

$20.00

Winemaker's Notes

Part of Washington State’s reputation being built on having world class Merlot, this bottling is no exception. With harvest dates from late September to mid-November, the fruit had a very extended hang time that allowed us to craft a very balanced wine with beautiful rich flavors while maintaining a great undertone of acidity.  The Merlot and Cabernet were fermented with PDM yeast in our stainless-steel upright fermenters.  100% malolactic fermentation was completed in upright stainless-steel tanks.

Blend/Vineyard Notes

95% Organic Merlot, 5% Organic Cabernet Sauvignon

90% Alice Vineyard Merlot, Columbia Valley

5%Badger Mountain Estate Merlot, Columbia Valley

5% Michaels Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Wahluke Slope

Tasting Notes

Great complex aromas of strawberry, raspberry, black plum with a nice hint of vanilla and currant lead to a nicely structured palate. Fresh red fruits balanced with plum and blackberry linger nicely alongside a hint of thyme, fennel and a nice minerality that is balanced with medium tannins and a touch of acidity.
